A radio presenter named Cassiday Proctor decided to give birth to her first child live on air to “share all aspects of [her] life with the listeners”. The new mum presents a morning show on The Arch radio station in St Louis, and had her baby boy by caesarean earlier this week.
She told the BBC : “It was amazing to be able to share the most exciting day of my life with our radio listeners.
“It’s an extension of what I already do every day on our radio show as I share all aspects of my lift.”
During the birth you can hear Cassiday and her partner discussing what is happening and debating whether to look behind the screen.
They also joke about checking it’s only the one baby.
She also got listeners to help name the baby boy, and asked them to vote between a number of different options.
There were 12 “silly names” and 12 chosen by Cassiday and her husband.
Luckily they opted against some of the options and voted for Jameson.
Little Jameson weighed 7lbs 6oz and is happy and healthy and is now settling into his new home.
